The electric Orbea Carpe 25 appeals to riders who want a conventional bicycle shape, useful gearing, and an integrated motor. Macfox X1S appeals to riders who want a long seat, front suspension, and control over how much of a daily trip they pedal. Both can be enjoyable everyday bikes. The deciding differences are under your hands and feet, not simply in their silhouettes.
Carpe 25 keeps the riding experience close to a geared bicycle
The current electric Carpe 25 combines a Shimano EP600 mid-drive with a 420Wh battery. Its nine-speed CUES drivetrain uses an 11-46T cassette, giving the rider a broad choice of ratios for rolling roads. On an incline, a lower gear helps keep the pedals turning at a comfortable rate while the motor assists through the same drivetrain.
The 700 x 45c tires and rigid carbon fork are a road-oriented combination. There is enough tire width for ordinary urban riding without adopting a fat-tire layout. A conventional saddle and adjustable seatpost let you establish the leg extension you prefer for a continuous pedal stroke.
Carpe 25 uses a chain and derailleur. The belt drive and electronic hub shifting associated with the more expensive Carpe 10 are not part of this configuration. For a buyer who wants the electric Carpe's general format with familiar mechanical gears, that makes the 25 a distinct choice rather than simply the same bike at another price.

X1S offers a different answer to “I want an easier ride”
The Macfox X1S e-bike uses a 500W rear-hub motor, pedal assistance, and a thumb throttle. You can enjoy pedaling on one stretch and continue under motor power on another without changing gears. Its single-speed drivetrain is straightforward for a daily route with frequent pauses.
The long padded seat gives room to move your sitting position. Front suspension and 20 x 4.0-inch tires provide cushioning over patched pavement. Those features can make an ordinary trip more inviting for someone who does not want a conventional narrow saddle or uninterrupted pedaling to define the outing.
Carpe's adjustable bicycle fit is useful when you want to settle into a regular cadence. X1S's seating and throttle are useful when you want to vary effort more freely. A longer ride does not automatically favor one: the rider who enjoys active pedaling and the rider who wants a relaxed seated outing may want different equipment for the same distance.
What a rigid fork means for your route
Carpe's carbon fork has no telescoping suspension mechanism. It keeps the front end straightforward, and there is no suspension service schedule for that fork. Riders who spend most of their time on reasonably smooth pavement may value that simplicity.
X1S adds a moving suspension fork beneath the handlebar. On a route with repeated rough patches, that gives the front wheel another way to absorb impacts. Its wide tires also provide more air volume. These are concrete reasons to choose it for daily comfort rather than deciding from the clean lines or aggressive appearance of either bike.
A battery number is not a complete riding plan
Carpe 25's 420Wh pack and X1S's 500Wh pack are in a similar general capacity range. X1S has more nominal energy, but using a throttle changes the rider's share of the work. Neither the capacity difference nor the frame shape alone predicts which bike will cover your trip more comfortably.
Choose Carpe 25 for its adjustable bicycle position, wide-range gears, and pedal-driven assistance. Choose X1S for a long-seat daily electric bike with front suspension and the option to ride without continuous pedaling. The comparison becomes useful once it is about the ride you want to repeat, rather than which bike looks more traditional.
